Empowering Hearts and Saving Lives

We are Chennai Cardiological & Mental Health Association, a not for profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by cardiovascular diseases and mental health issues in Chennai, India. Our aim is to provide subsidized treatment, medication and surgeries to the underprivileged suffering from heart ailments. We understand that mental health is as important as physical health, which is why we also have a help email for those struggling with mental health and suicidal thoughts. We believe in the power of community and are always looking for members and volunteers to support our fundraising events and make a difference in the lives of those in need.

Our Mission and History

Sourish Rajesh Kanna, the Founder and one of our Co-directors, was raised in Kamloops, BC, Canada, where he had access to Canada's universal healthcare system. However, during his visits to India, he noticed that many Indians aren't as fortunate as Canadians. Unfortunately, lower-class Indians don't have access to health insurance, which makes it nearly impossible for them to pay their medical bills. As a result, many of them avoid medical visits due to the high costs. Therefore, Sourish founded CCMHA in May 2023 and was inspired by Canada and its universal healthcare system, to make affordable medical care possible.

At Chennai Cardiological & Mental Health Association, our mission is to empower the hearts of those affected by cardiovascular diseases and mental health issues. We believe everyone deserves access to quality healthcare, regardless of their financial situation. Our organization provides subsidies for treatments, medications, and surgeries to those in need of help. Our journey began with a few individuals who wanted to make a difference in the lives of those around them. Today, we have grown into a community of like-minded individuals who share the same passion for serving others.
